For the record, I absolutely loathe Milan. It’s ugly, its dirty, its hard to get around. This past February Fashion Week season was my first time in Milan in 3 years. It really hasn’t changed. Still ugly, still dirty, still hard to get around. But I learned how to use the tram system (finally!! thanks Citymapper!) and was able to see a little more of the city than the last time I was there. Day 2 of my Milan Fashion Week trip, I stopped by the Fondazione Prada, after a long day of shooting street style. It was a crazy day. I had just finished shooting street style outside of Emilio Pucci (my fourth show of the day) and as I was turning a corner, I had happened upon the Fondazione Prada. I’ve always wanted to visit the fondazione and I am so glad I did. It was only 10 EUR to get in (with a student card, yay for Art Center College of Design’s never expiring student ID!). The buildings are modern yet rustic at the same time. The art is very contemporary. My favorite piece in the museum was the Thomas Demand installation (shown below). This museum is definitely a must see if you ever happen to be visiting Milan.
