Earlier this year, I went on a trip to Los Angeles with my friends Amy, Van, Thanh-Thanh and Josh. Lauren at DriveShop was the best and sent me over a cute little electric blue Mitsubishi Mirage while I was out there.
This car is great for the driver who doesn’t like to drive large cars. I’m not too big on driving SUV’s just because of the potential to roll over in them. I had this traumatic experience when I was 5 years old on the highway in Northern California with my mom where we watched a Jeep roll over after trying to dodge a bag of refuse in the middle of the road.
The car has great gas mileage and there’s bluetooth on it. The radio can get repetitive sometimes so its nice to have the feature of bluetooth so you can listen to your own music. Also to make hands-free phone calls.
I also loved the backup camera feature. It really helped with backing out of parking spaces and parallel parking. I lived in LA from 2007-2010 and I don’t really ever remember a time that I paid for parking or that I had to valet my car everywhere. But recently after coming back here and there the last 6 years, I have to either valet or pay for parallel parking!
One thing that could have been better about this car was the brakes. I’m not quite sure if it was because the loaner wasn’t properly maintained or if thats just how the brakes were. The brakes while I drove the car— took too long for me to stop and sometimes would roll slowly even when I had my foot down completely.
One day Van, Amy and I took the car around Melrose to go shopping and check off things on Van’s to do list for his instagram. We stopped by the Paul Smith store with #thatpinkwall and took photos of ourselves and the Mitsubishi Mirage for this blog post. Here’s photos of me posing with the car and Van art directing me to pose with the car. It was a very fun and memorable trip.
Thanks Lauren from DriveShop for the car!
